PEORIA, Ill. – We’re learning more about a shooting Wednesday night in Peoria’s East Bluff that happened in the course of a carjacking.
Peoria Police say they went to the Shell station on North Knoxville around 9:30 p.m. following a ShotSpotter alert of five rounds being fired.
A male victim with a gunshot wound told officers he was shot by another male who demanded his vehicle, and got it after a struggle.
The victim is hospitalized with serious injuries.
The incident is under investigation, and it’s not clear if there are any suspects.

Peoria Police were called about 9:30 p.m. to the area of N. Knoxville at E. Nebraska, near the Shell gas station, after five shots were fired.
Police said the victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital.
PPD did not have suspect information.
The incident remains under investigation.
