WASHINGTON, D.C. – “I know you are a father so I trust you will take this issue seriously.”
That’s how Illinois Senator and Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Dick Durbin starts a letter to Twitter CEO Elon Musk, urging him to do something to, in Durbin’s words, eradicate online child sexual exploitation.
Problem is, Durbin says, Musk saying that would happen, versus something being done, are two different things.
He says he wants to see proof from Musk that his company is doing what he said it would do.
Durbin says Twitter addressing child safety has “rapidly deteriorated” since Musk took over.
