PEORIA, Ill. – It’s not believed to be a homicide at the moment.
That’s what Peoria Police are saying following a juvenile who was found just before 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the area of Lexington Hills Apartments.
They say he had an apparent gunshot wound, and wasn’t breathing. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say while an investigating into the the apparent shooting continues, the circumstances “do not appear to be criminal at this time,” according to Semone Roth, PPD Public Information Officer.
The Peoria County Coroner could report more information at a later time.
Peoria has had 25 homicides so far this year, about ten less than the record year before.
