TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. — You may be wondering what to do with your live Christmas tree after the holidays.
Residents of Tazewell County can bring their trees to a number of drop off points December 26 through January 15 for mulching.
You’ll find drop-offs in Armington (across the street from the Village Hall), Creve Coeur (Village Hall, 101 N. Thorncrest), Hopedale (behind the Village Hall), Mackinaw (605 S. Orchard, behind the recycling bins), Minier (near the recycling bins at Park and Pennsylvania), Morton (at Freedom Hall, 349 W. Birchwood), Tremont (at the leaf pile adjacent to City Park) and Washington (at 815 Lincoln, near maintenance).
The Tazewell County Health Department says Pekin residents can leave Christmas trees out at the curb the first two weeks of January.
All lights, ornaments, tinsel and plastic bags should be removed before dropping off Christmas trees to Tazewell County sites.
Peoria and East Peoria residents can leave live trees out for pick up as part of their regular trash days.
