EAST PEORIA, Ill. — With less than a week to go for the Festival of Lights Winter Wonderland, East Peoria’s tourism director says this year’s event didn’t draw as many people.
High attendance was seen during the COVID years of 2020 and 2021.
Last week’s storm and bitter cold temperatures limited the ability for some people to come see the attraction, according to East Peoria Tourism Director Kory Brown.
“Unfortunately, we lost a few days to the weather, and the way the holidays lined up, we probably missed out on a couple of thousand cars, but not a whole lot you can do about that,” said Brown.
“The weather did play a factor last week, for sure,” Brown said.
Folepi’s Winter Wonderland, located just off of Springfield Road in East Peoria, is open through Jan. 2, from 5-9 p.m.
