PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria woman is pleading not guilty to charges accusing her of giving another woman the drugs that caused her death.
Peoria County Circuit Court records indicate Sharon Lucy, 58, entered the plea Thursday, two days after being charged by a grand jury with Drug-Induced Homicide and Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
Lucy allegedly gave Fentanyl to Angela Price back in August at a home on Reservoir Boulevard. Price later died of a drug-overdose — one of at least 45 such deaths in Peoria County this year; most, the coroner says, due to Fentanyl.
Lucy remains jailed, and is scheduled to go to trial as soon as late-March.
