PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria County Grand Jury filed charges in a number of cases during their meeting on Tuesday.
Among them, the grand jury charged Gabriel Messenger (pictured above), 19, with Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking. He originally also faced an Aggravated Battery charge. Messenger allegedly struggled with a 91-year-old man briefly before stealing the man’s car at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
Messenger is scheduled to be arraigned on the charge Thursday.
Also, the grand jury is filing counts of Possession of a Weapon by a Felon and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm against Carnell Williams, 42.
Williams was arrested at a home January first near Seibold and Griswold after he wouldn’t come out, following a reported ShotSpotter Alert of 19 rounds fired. A handgun was found in his possession.
An Aggravated Unlawful use of a Weapon Charge Williams was originally arrested on was not filed. No word yet on when he will be in court.
An Aggravated Battery charge is being handed to a Bartonville man after he allegedly stabbed a coworker at a local restaurant. The grand jury is charging Kenneth Alig, 40, with Aggravated Battery.
Alig allegedly stabbed another employee in the arm December 29th just inside an entrance to the Homestyle Grille in Bartonville. Alig has been in jail on 10-thousand dollars bond ever since. He’s scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.
The co-worker’s injuries were not life-threatening.
