PEORIA, Ill. – An all-clear has been given after a bomb threat Thursday morning in downtown Peoria.
Main Street was closed down at Jefferson for about an hour, as the Peoria Fire and Police Departments were called to the scene to investigate the threat to the Pere Marquette Hotel.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says hotel staff activated the fire alarm as part of protocol after a suspicious phone call. Witnesses say a male called the building and claimed a bomb was in the building.
Guests were evacuated from the building and taken to the Peoria Civic Center, but were allowed back at around 8:45 a.m. There were no injuries.
The incident is under investigation.
