PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. — If you’re wanting to skip the line at the polls on Election Day permanently, the Peoria County Election Commission will be mailing out Permanent Vote by Mail applications to registered voters not already signed up for the program beginning January 25.
Voters will be receiving a postcard or emailed application, depending on the information the election commission has on file.
The mailings are now required by state law.
The Election Commission is aware that residents may have already received a vote by mail application from the Voter Participation Center, a non-profit organization, but want to make sure voters have all the information they need to vote from home permanently.
Peoria County voters are encouraged to return their applications as soon as possible.
Vote by mail ballots will be mailed out beginning February 23. Anyone not interested in voting by permanently, can just disregard the application mailed to them.
