CHICAGO, Ill. – One of the greatest to don a Chicago Blackhawks sweater has passed away.
The NHL Alumni Association Monday announced the passing of Bobby Hull. He was 84.
Hull played for 15 years with the Blackhawks, winning the Stanley Cup in 1961 with the team. He scored 604 goals with the team.
Hull also spent time in Winnipeg and Hartford. He was a three-time Art Ross Trophy winner, two-time Hart Memorial Trophy winner, being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983, and being named one of the NHL’s 100 Greatest Players.
Blackhawks Owner and Chairman Rocky Wirtz in a statement said “Hull is a part of an elite group of players who made a historic impact on our hockey club.” He added that “generations of Chicagoans were dazzled by Bobby’s shooting prowess, skating skill, and overall team leadership.”
