GALESBURG, Ill. – A rural Knox County woman originally facing charges of Concealment of a Death after a body was found in a storage locker back in October, is now facing a charge of First-Degree Murder.
Court records indicate Marcy Oglesby, 50, was also charged Monday with Concealing a Homicidal Death, and Aggravated Battery by Administering a Toxic Substance.
Authorities were called to a storage facility in the rural town of Maquon October 7, 2022 after complaints of a suspicious odor. Oglesby claimed at the time a dead opossum was to blame, but a large box with a body inside was recovered.
The identity of the victim still isn’t known.
Oglesby had previously pleaded not guilty to the original charge, but will be in court Wednesday on the new counts.
