PEORIA, Ill. – We now know where a longtime official with Peoria Public Schools went when he stepped down from his role there.
UnityPoint Health says Doctor Derrick Booth is joining UnityPlace as its Executive Director of Community Services.
UnityPlace is the provider’s arm that provides mental health treatment and services in the community.
“Derrick has valuable experience working within our community, and we’re excited to add his passion to our leadership team to enhance community mental health and substance use disorder services in our area,” said Mary Sparks Thompson, UnityPlace president, in a news release.
UnityPoint says Booth will provide direction, policy administration, and other work as mental health services are expanded in the community.
“This team of experts and innovators are devoted to improving access to mental health and substance use disorder services in our community. I look forward to bringing my experience and leadership to the team,” said Booth, also in a news release.
Booth started District-150’s Wraparound Center, which provides a number of community resources for free.
