PEORIA, Ill. – Two agencies say gas prices in the Peoria are down compared to a week ago — but, there might be a problem.
GasBuddy.com says its weekly average of local gas station prices has a gallon of unleaded sitting at $3.48 — down three and a half cents from the week before. AAA has its Peoria-Pekin metro average at $3.51 — down almost a nickel.
But, a number of Peoria gas stations are up a dime or more Monday from just the day before.
GasBuddy says you can expect prices to continue to increase, as the transition to summer-grade fuel officially begins.
They say gas prices could keep going up until Memorial Day, but the national average near four dollars a gallon could also be possible.
