PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria County grand jury met Tuesday, and charged people in several cases.
Among the more significant ones: Robert Arnold (pictured above), 69, Elmwood, was charged with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, a Class-Two Felony. The indictment alleges Arnold, around January 28th, committed an act of sexual conduct with someone between the ages of 13 and 17.
Arnold is jailed on $75,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.
Jose DeJesus, 31, was charged with Vehicular Hijacking, not the Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking charge he was arrested on. DeJesus allegedly stole a man’s car on North Underhill February 8. A man sitting in his car claims DeJesus ordered him out of the car before taking off with the vehicle.
It was one of a number arrests made that day that was part of a Peoria Police Anti-Violence Initiative enforcement detail.
DeJesus is jailed on $100,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned a week from Thursday.
James Wright, Jr., 30, was charged Tuesday with Possession of a Weapon by a Felon. He originally faced other weapons and remains charged with traffic-related counts, along with a warrant.
Wright was arrested February 13th after a vehicle that was thought to have been seen at the downtown CityLink facility earlier in the day where a robbery had been reported.
A gun was allegedly found in Wright’s vehicle when he was arrested.
Wright is jailed on $25,000 bond and will be arraigned Thursday.
