PEORIA, Ill. – We know more about what ended up being a fatal stabbing in South Peoria Wednesday afternoon.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood identifies the victim as 34-year-old Lamario Billups who was taken to the hospital in grave condition, but died about a half hour after the incident near Stanley and Krause.
A formal forensic autopsy Friday, but Harwood says Billups appeared to have died from a single stab wound to the chest.
Police arrested 22-year-old Heaven Kruzan on a charge of First Degree Murder and remains jailed.

PEORIA, Ill. – A woman is in custody following a fatal stabbing in South Peoria.
Peoria Police Spokesperson Semone Roth says it happened around 1:40 p-m Wednesday near Stanley and Krause.
The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.
PPD says officers in the area identified the suspect, 22-year-old Heaven Kruzan, who was picked up on S. Griswold and taken to the Peoria Police Department for questioning.
Kruzan was arrested for First Degree Murder and taken to the Peoria County Jail.
The victim’s identity and other details will come from the Peoria County Coroner’s Office.
