PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man is going to prison for the better part of a decade after he was caught distributing methamphetamine.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Keyshawn Banks, 24, was sentenced Thursday to 120 months in prison after pleading guilty last September to Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver.
Prosecutors say Banks distributed meth in ice form at least from March to July of last year.
He was reportedly on his way to a drug sale when police arrested him, but his car hit a home.
118 grams of meth was found at the time — with almost three pounds of meth being distributed during a four month investigation.
Ten years, though, is the minimum Banks could have faced in prison.
