PEORIA, Ill. – Gas prices in Peoria have gone up in the last week.
That’s according to both AAA and GasBuddy.com.
AAA’s Peoria-Pekin average currently sits at $3.57 for a gallon of unleaded — more than 5.5 cents higher than a week ago.
GasBuddy.com’s Peoria-area average increased more than that. It’s up nearly 8.5 cents to an average also at $3.57.
The national average is also increasing — to $3.47 a gallon.
GasBuddy says that average continues to increase, despite some declines in oil prices, because of the continuing transition to summer-grade fuel from winter-grade.
On the bright side, the local average prices for gas, while considered to be high by many, is still $1 lower than this time next year.
