PEORIA, Ill. – A teenager was injured after Peoria Police say he was shot at Saturday night.
Police officials released details of the incident more than twelve hours after they say a ShotSpotter alert was first reported around 8:15 p.m. near Johnson Street and MacArthur Highway, with six rounds being fired.
Shell casings were found, but no victims, until about 25 minutes later, after a victim had been taken to the hospital privately.
A 14-year-old male told police he was shot outside a business in that area by an unknown suspect.
The teen’s injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.
