PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man who was wanted by police is now in custody on numerous weapons-related charges.
Police say 22-year-old Dwayne Daye was arrested Tuesday afternoon on a warrant, and is charged with felony counts including: Armed Violence, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Domestic Battery, Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, Resisting Police, and an Illinois Department of Corrections Warrant.
Police say a license plate reader detected the vehicle Daye was in on West Howett Tuesday afternoon, but he allegedly tried to flee when the vehicle was pulled over.
A loaded handgun with an extended magazine was believed to have been located on Daye when he was taken to jail, where he remains.
