PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria Rivermen player you might consider to be a legend in the organization is calling it a career.
Rivermen captain Alec Hagaman announced at Saturday night’s regular season finale with Pensacola he will retire when the upcoming playoff run ends.
Hagaman has had over four hundred points in a four hundred game career. He played eight years for the Rivermen, and one in Pensacola.
A pre-game ceremony was held honoring the Peoria native, who has played all but one of his eight years with the Rivermen
The Rivermen sent Hagaman’s regular season career out in style Saturday night — scoring two power play goals and an empty net goal, all in the third period, en route to a 4-1 victory over Pensacola, their second 4-1 victory in as many nights.
The Rivermen will play Pensacola to start the SPHL Playoffs starting Thursday.
