PEORIA, Ill. – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is coming to Peoria.
That’s according to the campaign office of Republican Congressman Darin LaHood.
The campaign says DeSantis, who has not yet announced what is expected to be a Republican presidential run, will be the special guest at the Peoria-Tazewell Lincoln Day Dinner on May 12th.
In a statement, LaHood says he’s looking forward to DeSantis sharing what the Congressman calls the “Florida Blueprint” with area Conservatives.
“Governor Ron DeSantis is one of the preeminent conservative voices in our country, fighting back against the radical left,” said LaHood (R-Dunlap), in a news release. “As Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis has enabled his state to thrive because he leads with fiscal responsibility, family values, and Constitutional principles.”
LaHood helped bring former Vice President Mike Pence to the dinner last year.
Organizers say more details about the Peoria-Tazewell Lincoln Day Dinner are expected at a later date.
DeSantis is expected to face Trump and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy in the 2024 Republican primary.
