PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria County grand jury is filing charges against a Marquette Heights man for allegedly setting a home on fire last month.
The grand jury Tuesday charged Christopher Hairgrove, 26, with both Aggravated Arson and Residential Arson.
Hairgrove — who was released from jail a day after police originally charged him with three counts of Aggravated Arson — is accused of setting a home near Malone and Ligonier in South Peoria on fire March 15th.
Firefighters estimated damage to the home to be $25,000 at the time.
A preliminary hearing was originally scheduled to be this Thursday. No word on when an arraignment will be held now.
