EAST PEORIA, Ill. – Police in East Peoria say an eighth grade student is “pretty fortunate” after being stabbed during a fight Saturday.
Police say both the student and what was termed a non-current Freshman at East Peoria Community High School were armed with knives when they got into a fight late Saturday afternoon at the Eastside Centre.
The 8th grader had put his knife away, but ended up being stabbed multiple times.
Injuries are said to be minor.
The other youth is in juvenile custody, while both have been charged.
“This behavior is not indicative of Eastside Centre or any playground in East Peoria,” Horn told 25 News. “Both the East Peoria and Fon Du Lac police departments have regular patrol there and at all parks in the city. This type of behavior will not be tolerated and has serious consequences.”
