PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria crews were called to a home on N. North Street, near W. Lake, just before 11 p.m. Sunday on reports of a fire.
Light smoke could be seen coming from the exterior of the home.
Battalion Chief Ryan Calhoun said firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to locate the fire. It was in an exterior wall near the home’s electrical meter.
After removing some siding, crews were able to put the fire out quickly.
The homeowner smelled smoke, called 911, and was able to get three people out of the house safely before crews arrived.
Damage was estimated at $20,000.
No firefighter injuries were reported.
