PEORIA, Ill. – Two Peoria residents were arrested, but records indicate they’re now out of jail — after police say they were seen pointing guns at each other Saturday afternoon, and assaulted another person.
Peoria Police say officers went to Lincoln Avenue near where it merges with Martin Luther King, Junior Drive around 12:20 p.m. Saturday. They learned two adult males attacked an adult male leaving a business before they fled the scene.
The two were found on Western Avenue later and arrested, with a loaded handgun allegedly inside their car.
George Lewis, 19, and Dayshaun Smullin, 25, were both arrested on charges of Battery and Mob Action. Lewis also faces counts of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Firearm Under 21, Possession of a Firearm Without a Valid FOID Card, and Aggravated Assault, and got a Notice to Appear in Court.
Smullin posted bond.
The victim’s injuries were said to be minor.
