PEORIA, Ill. – A Marquette Heights man is convicted of a homicide from almost two years ago.
A jury Tuesday found Allen Schimmelpfennig, now 30, guilty of First-Degree Murder and Concealing a Homicidal Death.
Gabriel Cook, 32, was reported missing in March of 2021. Schimmelpfenning was arrested that June.
A crime scene was found later that March, but it is not believed Cook’s body has been found.
25 News reports Schimmelpfenning will be sentenced next month.
