PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man faced a host of weapons charges, among other counts, when he was arrested following a shooting incident last month.
Instead, a Peoria County grand jury Wednesday only filed two counts against Zachariah Charles, 20: Aggravated Battery, and Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.
Charles was arrested April 15th, not long after allegedly fleeing the scene of the shooting on West Lincoln near Madison Park Terrace.
Police say a gun with a defaced serial number was found.
Another man suffered minor injuries.
Charles will be arraigned Wednesday, and remains in jail.
