LOS ANGELES – A longtime soap opera star has passed away.
Jacklyn Zeman, who played Bobbie Spencer for more than four decades on ABC’s “General Hospital, has died at the age of 70.
The news was announced by the show’s executive producer, Frank Valentini, who described Zeman as “a bright light and true professional that brought so much positive energy with her to work,” in a post on Twitter.
Zeman played Barbara “Bobbie” Spencer for over 45 years, but her first role acame in 1977 on ABC’s “One Life to Live,” before being case later that year on “General Hospital,” according to Fox News.
“General Hospital” has been on ABC for 60 years, making it one of the longest running soap operas on the air.
According to media reports and her family, Zeman died following a brief battle with cancer.
