PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria woman with an arrest history dating back 20 years has been arrested for what is believed to be the city’s sixth homicide of the year.
Peoria Police say Lauraine Singleton, 41, was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with First-Degree Murder, and, jail records say, an active warrant from Tazewell County.
Police were called to a residence on Morgan Street, inbetween Glendale and Perry Avenues, around quarter after two for a report of a stabbing victim.
A 50-year-old male was taken to a hospital where he later died.
Singleton was at the scene and taken into custody.
More details about the victim are expected to be released by the Peoria County Coroner at a later time.
