PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria business went up in flames early Thursday morning on Sloan Street.
Fire Battalion Chief Ryan Calhoun said crews responded to an unintentional fire at the IVEX Peoria building just before 5 a.m.
Employees, who had already evacuated the manufacturing facility, told firefighters they would find the fire inside on a large paper roller system.
The building’s sprinkler system put out the flames before crews entered the building. Damage was estimated at $250,000.
The Railroad Authority was called to shut down railroad traffic, since hose lines covered the tracks.
No injuries were reported.
