PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria crews were called to the area of W. Gift and N. Isabell for a residential fire Wednesday morning.
Fire officials said fire broke out around 10 a.m., with flames showing from the front of the home.
The residents were able to get out before crews arrived. Multiple fire crews were called to the scene.
An investigator said the fire was accidental. Code Enforcement determined that due to extensive damage, the home needed to be demolished.
The Red Cross assisted the residents with temporary housing.
Peoria County Animal Control was also called in to treat a cat that was rescued from the fire.
No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $50,000.
