UPDATED 9/7 1:35 P.M.
PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria Chiefs are going to the Midwest League playoffs.
Peoria’s Minor League Baseball team clinched a playoff spot Wednesday night by defeating the Beloit Sky Carp 3-0 at Dozer Park.
The Chiefs clinched because Cedar Rapids won both halves of the season, and the Chiefs came in second in the second half.
This is the Chiefs’ first playoff appearance since 2018. They will host Cedar Rapids in Game 1 at Dozer Park Tuesday night in a best-of-3 series. If they win that series, the Chiefs will host Games 2 and 3 of the Midwest League Championship Series.
However, the Chiefs have four games left in the regular season before the playoffs can begin, and they are all at home versus Beloit.
