PEORIA, Ill. – Brandon Walker will spend the rest of his life in prison for the death of 8-year-old Navin Jones.
Peoria County State’s Attorney Jodi Hoos says Walker, 42, received a sentence of natural life in the Illinois Department of Corrections on Wednesday after being found guilty in December of First Degree Murder in relation to Navin’s death.
Navin died in a Peoria hospital in March of 2022 after being found malnourished, beaten, and abused.
Navin’s mother, Stephanie Jones, 37, pleaded guilty in December to First Degree Murder charges.
She will be sentenced on April 25th, and faces 20 to 100 years in prison.
