WASHINGTON, D.C. – TikTok is sending an army of users to bombard senators with phone calls as they consider a House bill that could ban the app.
A senate source tells FOX News that their office received nearly 1,000 calls in a matter of days; with some kids threatening to kill themselves, kill President Biden, and kill the senator. The source says, “they would laugh and say they’re kidding and hang up.”
Some sources don’t think the bill to force TikTok’s Chinese-based parent company ByteDance to sell, or face a U.S. ban, will ever get a vote, but a few senators have indicated the bill will be brought to the floor in an amended form.
The bill’s co-author, Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi of Illinois, is hopeful, saying, “We’ve got an indication that the leader is going to take it up in his process. And obviously we respect his process.”
