PEORIA, Ill. – A teenager was arrested after multiple shots were fired in South Peoria early Friday morning.
Peoria Police says officers responded just after 1:30 A.M. to the area of Wiswall and Madison Park Terrace after a total of 32 shots were fired in the area. Police say there were no injuries.
When officers arrived, they saw a reported stolen vehicle fleeing away from the area. They attempted to stop the vehicle, but drove away at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle was later found in the area of Linsley and Brons, and found a 17-year-old male hiding near the vehicle with the assistance of a K9.
Officers also reportedly located a loaded firearm within feet of the 17-year-old.
The teen was taken into custody and arrested on charges of Possession of a Machine Gun, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, Possession of a Handgun Under 21, and Obstructing Police.
He was taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
