PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say three people were injured in three separate shootings on Sunday.
The first shooting happened around 2 p.m. on N. Sheridan Road.
Officers found a juvenile male with an apparent gunshot wound. He was speaking with officers at the scene before being taken to the hospital. His condition was unknown.
Peoria Police Spokeswoman Semone Roth says police are pursuing a possible suspect or suspects. The incident remains under investigation.
Just before 9:30 p.m., police were called to N. New York Avenue on reports of a shooting.
When PPD arrived, they found a man with a single gunshot wound to the arm.
He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have no suspects at this time.
About an hour later, officers responded to N. Great Oak Road on reports of another person being shot. Police found a man who’d suffered a graze wound.
The victim was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
These incidents followed two separate homicides hours apart near Lexington Hills Apartments on W. Fallen Oak Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
PEORIA, Ill. – A man is recovering after being shot Sunday night, following two homicides hours apart in Peoria over the weekend.
Police Spokesperson Semone Roth says officers were called to Pierson Hill Apartments on N. Great Oak Road just after 10:30 p.m. Sunday, finding a man with an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim suffered only a graze wound, but was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
Police have no suspects. The incident remains under investigation.
PPD was called Saturday night to the area of the Lexington Hills Apartments on W. Fallen Oak Lane, finding a male with a graze wound to his back. Officers then found another adult male with an apparent gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Then early Sunday morning, PPD returned to the area on reports of a female not breathing.
Officers found an adult female with apparent stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Peoria County Coroner is expected to release more information and the identities of the victims.
