PEORIA, Ill. – The victims from Peoria’s 3rd and 4th homicides this past weekend, hours apart from each other, in Peoria have been identified.
The Peoria County Coroner’s Office says the victims are 27-year-old Trashawn Morris and 58-year-old Tonya Fuller. Morris and Fuller died in separate incidents.
Morris died after Peoria Police responded to the area of the Lexington Hills Apartments at W. Fallen Oak just after 10:15 P.M. Saturday on reports of a male being shot. Officers found an adult male with a graze wound to his back, but then located Morris with an apparent gunshot wound.
Morris was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner’s office says Morris suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and likely died moments after.
Peoria Police returned to the area just before 1:45 A.M. on reports of a female not breathing, and located Fuller. Fuller was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy revealed that Fuller suffered multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma and likely died during the stabbing.
Peoria Police continue to investigate both homicides.
