PEORIA, Ill. – A teenager was arrested on weapons charges Tuesday morning in South Peoria.
Peoria Police say they made contact with a 17-year-old male, just after 10:15 A.M., who matched the description of a person with a gun at Starr and Westmoreland.
The teen reportedly fled on foot into a house in the area of Starr and Madison Park Terrace, where officers entered the house and took him into custody.
Police reportedly observed an extended magazine from his pocket during the chase, and located a handgun modified to be fully-automatic with an extended magazine during a search of the house.
The teen was arrested on charges of Possession of a Machine Gun, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, Possession of a Handgun Under 21, and Resisting Police.
He was taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
