PEORIA, Ill. – A man wanted for an attempted murder out-of-state was arrested yesterday Wednesday afternoon in Peoria.
Peoria Police say a weapon-related investigation was conducted just after 3:45 P.M. in the area of La Salle and Indiana.
Officers attempted to make contact with 19-year-old Montell Nellum and 23-year-old Damaris Neal. But both fled on foot, and were taken into custody after a brief chase.
Police say Neal was found to be on a full extradition warrant out of Tennessee for Attempted Murder.
Officers also reportedly found a Glock 19 with a switch and extended magazine on Nellum.
Neal was arrested for Obstructing Police and an Active Warrant. Nellum was arrested for Possession of a Machine Gun, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, Possession of a Handgun Under 21, Resisting Police, and Aggravated Resisting.
Both were arrested and taken to the Peoria County Jail.
