PEORIA, Ill. – A former employee of Peoria Friendship House will head to prison after pleading guilty to criminal sexual assault of a minor who also worked there.
25 News reports 23-year-old Jasmine Lamon was sentenced to four years in prison Wednesday.
She pleaded guilty to criminal sexual assault of a teen between 13 and 18 in a plea agreement with prosecutors, and must register as a sex offender after she’s released.
The alleged incident occurred last July when Lamon was a parent-mentor coordinator at Friendship House, and was reportedly the victim’s supervisor.
Lamon could have faced a maximum of 15 years in prison.
Defense attorney Kevin Sullivan says Lamon is eligible for a reduction in her sentence for good behavior, and if she enrolls in various prison programs such as education, life skills, and counseling.
