PEORIA, Ill. – A man will remain in jail after being charged with Attempted First Degree Murder for a stabbing incident earlier this month.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says a petition to detain 36-year-old Korie Neltner was granted Tuesday.
Prosecutors say police were dispatched to a house in the area of Lincoln and Martin Luther King Junior Drive at around 9:00 P.M. on May 11th.
Neltner reportedly showed up to his cousin’s house after an earlier argument.
Neltner then allegedly pulled a knife out and cut his cousin open, slicing the stomach from the groin to his sternum.
The state’s attorney’s office says Neltner is also facing an Aggravated Battery charge in the case.
