CHILLICOTHE TOWNSHIP, Ill. – A Chillicothe man died after a crash north of the town on Saturday night while on his motorcycle.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says 37-year-old Nathan Knop was pronounced brain dead just after 8:15 P.M. Monday after aggressive treatment and care.
Harwood says Knop reportedly struck a deer, and was found down next to his bike in the intersection of Benedict Street and Hart Lane just after 8:45 P.M. Saturday
He was taken to OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center with labored breathing and life-threatening injuries.
Harwood says Knop suffered multiple blunt-force traumatic head injuries, and toxicology tests are pending.
