PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria food kitchen says its doors are staying open after a recent rash of vandalism.
In a Facebook post, Sophia’s Angels Kitchen says a vandal, who has been arrested, broke windows and doors over the past several days.
The kitchen says even with insurance, it will have to cover thousands of dollars in unexpected repair costs, as each case was a separate incident.
The post continues to say security equipment is under review, and upgrades will occur where needed.
The kitchen says it’s staying open because “no one else should suffer because of his misdeeds.”
Sophia’s is asking people to pray to St. Michael for protection, and if anyone wants to donate to cover expenses, they should mail them to 105 N. Richard Pryor Place, Peoria, IL 61605.
