WASHINGTON, Ill. – The first K9 dog to serve in the Washington Police Department has died.
The department says Thor was euthanized on Monday for acute medical conditions related to his age.
Thor lived to 13 years old, and served in the city from December of 2012 to May of 2022.
The department says he lived a life of leisure after retirement with his handler, Officer Dan Foster and his family.
