PEORIA, Ill. – A man will remain in jail after his recent arrest in connection to a Valentine’s Day robbery at a Peoria apartment complex.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says a petition to detain 24-year-old Anthony Morris was granted Monday.
Prosecutors say Morris was arrested on Friday and is charged with Armed Robbery and two counts of Home Invasion.
Peoria Police responded to the Lexington Hills Apartment Complex on February 14th.
That’s where victims told officers they heard a knock on the door, and saw two men after opening it. One person, armed with a gun, was later identified as Morris.
Morris then allegedly pushed the door open, forced himself inside, and then held a gun to the head of one of the occupants.
Morris then reportedly demanded the victim’s phone, car keys, credit cards, and jacket.
Prosecutors say an investigation continues.
