PEORIA, Ill. – Two men from Bartonville have made plea deals after reportedly being involved in a train derailment last year.
20-year-old Jimmy Johnson and 18-year-old Caleb Finley were sentenced last Thursday after pleading guilty to Damage to Railroad Property.
Both were sentenced to 30 months of probation and must complete up to 100 hours of community service.
The plea deals mean trials scheduled for both Finley and Johnson next week will not occur.
The incident occurred November 18th last year, after both reportedly moved a derailing device attached to the rails, causing damage to the train’s wheels and track.
