PEORIA, Ill. – Arson appears to be the cause of a fire Friday afternoon that caused $75,000 damage to a vacant home in Peoria’s East Bluff.
Fire Battalion Chief Josh Martin said crews responded to the 1600 block of N. New York Avenue around 3:40 p.m., finding fire showing from the roof.
Martin said firefighters cut a hole in the roof to release “super-heated” smoke and gases.
No injuries were reported at the scene.
