PEORIA, Ill. – Two men have been arrested on a variety of weapons charges after a downtown Peoria crash early Saturday morning.
Peoria Police says the two males allegedly fled the crash at Jefferson and Fulton, where a vehicle had struck a gate just before 12:30 A.M.
18-year-old Connor Maquet was found in the area and taken into custody after a brief foot chase. Police say a vehicle search allegedly resulted in the discovery of illegal narcotics, as well as two handguns found on the flight paths of the suspects.
The second suspect, 18-year-old Shane Fisher Jr., was found on Monday and arrested by police.
Maquet was arrested on charges of Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun with Defaced Identification, Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID Card, and Unlawful Possession of Firearm Ammunition without a FOID Card.
Fisher was arrested on charges of Armed Violence, Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon Under 21, Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Damage to Property, Resisting Police, and Obstructing a Peace Officer.
Both Maquet and Fisher were taken to the Peoria County Jail.
