PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – The Peoria County coroner has identified the man killed Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash near Glasford.
Coroner Jamie Harwood said one of the drivers, 65-year-old Michael Tucker, was driving north on Glasford Road when he ran through a stop sign, and was hit by another vehicle going west on Glasford-Canton Road.
Tucker’s vehicle rolled several times in the crash. He was thrown from the vehicle, dying instantly, and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the coroner.
Tucker, who lived on S. Glasford Road, suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries, Harwood said. Toxicology tests are pending.
Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins said the other driver in the crash suffered only minor injuries.
Sheriff’s deputies and the Timber Hollis Fire Protection District responded to the scene just after 4 p.m. The intersection was shut down for several hours following the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office and the Peoria County Coroner’s Office.
