TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. – A Manito woman has been arrested after allegedly stealing funds from Spring Lake Elementary School.
The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office says 54-year-old Patrika Rawlings has been charged with felony theft after allegedly stealing more than $150,000.
Rawlings was employed as the school’s secretary and financial office.
The school reported an alleged theft to the sheriff’s office in August of last year, with Rawlings identified as the suspect.
Detectives determined that Rawlings allegedly used school-issued credit cards, bank checks, and other school financial accounts for personal gain.
Rawlings was arrested Monday afternoon in Pekin and booked into the Tazewell County Jail.
